Nettwerk Records discovered MacLean singing on a ferry in B.C. and she was signed to Nettwerk Records in April 1995. She is signed to Sony Music Publishing Canada. In 1995, MacLean went to San Francisco to record her debut album Silence. MacLean toured to promote Silence for over two years and opened for Ashley MacIsaac, Barenaked Ladies, Paula Cole, Ron Sexsmith, Tom Cochrane, and The Cure. She has lit up eight dates on the Lilith Fair tour. In 1997, MacLean released “If You See Me”. I went from a having successful career as a producer and helping clients make TV commercials – to helping people create positive change in their lives, as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.

It’s a big deal to change careers in your 40’s; letting go of a lucrative and successful career after 17 years.  It wasn’t easy to even consider….. but I knew deep down, that I was ready for a change.  The signs were there, I just didn’t know what to do – or even what I wanted to do next.  Thankfully, I had the good fortune to meet and be coached by Susan Washington.

After spending time with her to really figure out where I wanted to go (my values, my life goals)– and what I wanted out of my journey (what I wanted to experience in my career and my life) – we started to move towards my goals.  Once I had committed to the direction and goal, the path seemed much clearer.

Susan is a fantastic co-pilot on a journey like this and was there every step of the way.  She gave direction, pointed out things of interest, suggested alternative routes, cheered me on, and kept things light.  I don’t recall her having to take the wheel, but I knew that she was always there, just in case.  Even when I would take some uncharted, gravel roads, Susan always knew how to get me back on track and moving in the direction I needed to go to achieve my goals.
